Indonesia Re is Pursuing the Dream of Becoming a World-class Company

Jakarta - Indonesia Re is serious about pursuing its dream of becoming a world-class company in 2020 with a target of becoming number one in the ASEAN region. The trick is to continue to develop the company's capacity and make new innovations in providing services to ceding companies that have been Indonesia Re's clients so far.
President Director of Indonesia Re, Frans Y. Sahusilawane, in the breaking of the fast with his friends said, with the spirit of Ramadan, Indonesia Re wants to change for the better. The company wants to continue to improve its performance after three consecutive years of contributing to reducing the balance of payments deficit.
"In 2016 the deficit in the balance of payments has decreased to USD 689 million, from the previous position in 2015 of USD 888 million, and in 2014 around USD 1.03 billion," he said while giving a speech in front of Indonesian business relations, Thursday (9/6).
He explains, Indonesia Re will continue to pursue reinsurance premium growth and immediately transform into a world-class company. Therefore, the improvement of service quality is continuously carried out for the satisfaction of the ceding companies. "We want to be the host in our own country. That's why we are trying to encourage insurance companies to continue to carry out placements in the country," he said.
Frans said, so far, the development of reinsurance has experienced significant improvements. However, it is still not optimal because many insurance companies place their reinsurance risk abroad.
"For that we will continue to increase the placement of premiums in the country so that the deficit can decrease to 20 percent. If this is achieved, it will be a very significant achievement," he said.
The services provided by Indonesia Re, added Frans, are getting better and even better than services that have been provided by foreign reinsurance companies. "If they can serve better, so can we," he said.
Met on the same occasion, Managing Director of Asuransi Jiwasraya, Hendrisman Rahim, said that Indonesia's dream of becoming a world-class company does not appear to be a difficult thing to do. This is because the state-owned company has become the largest in the Indonesian reinsurance industry sector.
"Now we are proud to have a large reinsurance state-owned company with a large capacity. Indonesia Re has contributed greatly to reducing the deficit abroad," he said.
Another Indonesian Re ceding company, BNI Life, admits that so far the services provided by Indonesia Re have been very good. "Indonesia Re is very responsive and fast in providing facultative services and very cooperative," said BNI Life Underwriter, Fajar Edi Hutomo when met at the ceremony.
In the future, Fajar hopes Indonesia Re has an increasingly superior technological capacity. “It's good because now they have technology that can help the underwriting process online," he said.
The iftar event with fellows was attended by 800 clients of the ceding company Indonesia Re. They come from life insurance companies, general insurance, and sharia insurance, including BNI life, Panin Daichi Life, Jiwasraya Insurance, Prudential Life, Manulife, Jasindo, TPI, and Cigna Insurance. There were also a number of reinsurance companies such as Swiss Re, Munich Re, and Willys Re.
Apart from breaking their fast together, the invited guests were entertained by the performance of Gigi Band. They sang approximately 10 songs that were hits in the 90s era.
