Responding to the earthquake-tsunami in Central Sulawesi, Indonesia Re sends relief support worth Rp50 million

Jakarta (Antara News) - State-owned reinsurance company, PT Reasuransi Indonesia Utama (Indonesia Re), participated in raising aid for victims of the earthquake-tsunami disaster that occurred in Central Sulawesi, by sending a number of daily necessities worth Rp50 million.

PKBL & CSR Group Head Indonesia Re, Fredi Aries Setiawan expressed that the support had been sent through Pelni Logistics. The items needed by residents affected by the disaster in Central Sulawesi, consist of rice, instant noodles, diapers, milk and baby food.

"We distributed Rp50 million in the form of goods such as rice, instant noodles, diapers, and baby necessities, according to what they need right now," said Fredi in Jakarta, Wednesday.

The aid would immediately be sent for Central Sulawesi this morning (Wednesday) at around 10.00 am, and would arrive at the location after four days. Indonesia Re has also entrusted the distribution of aid to Pelni, which will coordinate with the National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB) at the location.

Fredi also mentioned that the Company previously sent aid that was initiated by the employees through the union.

"There were representatives from our labor unions who came directly to the location bringing help," he said.

By sending in support, Indonesia Re hopes that the victims will be able to easily get the goods they need. Although according to Fredi, the amount of assistance is not that big, hopefully it can at least help ease the residents in meeting their daily needs.

"We can only give a little help. Our assistance is more focused on the needs of daily life to guarantee their needs in the near future," said Fredi.
