Three BUMNs have collaborated in handling civil law with the Attorney General's Office

 

Jakarta (ANTARA News) -- Junior Attorney General for Civil and State Administration (JAM DATUN) The Attorney General's Office of the Republic of Indonesia Loeke Larasati Agoestina signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with three State-Owned Enterprises regarding cooperation on the effectiveness of handling legal problems in the civil and state administration sector.

The three BUMNs consist of PT. Danareksa (Persero), PT. Penjaminan Infrastruktur Indonesia (Persero), and PT. Reasuransi Indonesia Utama (Persero).

The signing was carried out by each of the BUMN's main directors with JAMDATUN. Attending the event were the Managing Director of Danareksa, Arief Budiman, the President Director of PII, Armand Hermawan, and the President Director of PT. Reasuransi Indonesia Utama (Indonesia Re), Frans Y. Sahusilawane in Jakarta, Monday.

JAM DATUN Loeke Larasati A. said that she attended as an institution that can provide studies from legal aspects to the Government/State, BUMN/BUMD and subsidiaries.

"The existence of this Datun Sector should be maximally utilized by all SOEs so that every business activity can be carried out in accordance with the applicable legal corridors in order to realize economic, effective and efficient law enforcement, both at the central and regional levels," said Loeke.
Loeke added that the legal authority owned by the Datun Division includes legal considerations in the form of a legal opinion, legal assistance and legal audit. The legal considerations are preventive in nature, and expected to reduce irregularities and increase compliance.
 
"In addition, the Civil Service and State Administration may provide legal assistance (non-litigation and litigation) and other legal actions in order to save and restore state finances/assets," he said.
 
Managing Director of Danareksa Arief Budiman added, "The financial industry in Indonesia will continue to grow, and we will continue to grow in the future, with more cooperation and business activities with various corporations. Of course, with this mutual agreement with Jamdatun, we will ensure that our business activities are always within the corridor of existing laws and regulations. And, to avoid problems in the future "
 
At the same time, PT. PII's Managing Director, Armand Hermawan stated that with the signing of the joint agreement between PT. PII and JAMDATUN,  hopefully all infrastructure projects that are guaranteed by PT. PII as an Infrastructure Guarantee Business Entity (BUPI) can be implemented in accordance with applicable laws and improve good governance.
 
Meanwhile, President Director of Indonesia Re, Frans Y. Sahusilawane said, "In transforming from a local reinsurance company to a regional and global player, Indonesia Re anticipates the occurrence of various legal problems, both from a national and international perspective. Therefore, through the cooperation and assistance of the State Attorney General's Office, it is hoped that we will be better prepared and able to face all of that professionally within the framework of Good Corporate Governance. "
