Depok, West Java - The annual golf tournament for the national insurance industry, PGAI Matchplay, for the first time played at Emeralda Golf Club, an international standard course, located in Depok, West Java.

Deputy Chairman of the Indonesian Golf Insurance Association (PGAI), Jafar Sidiq, said that by using an international standard course, the participants hope to hone their abilities physically and mentally. This is because Emeralda Golf Club has a very hilly contour as well as number of lakes and small rivers.

"As the oldest golf club in Indonesia, we are committed to improve the abilities of our members. The selection of this golf course has been a special consideration regarding that," said Jafar at Game 1 PGAI Matchplay 2020 in Depok.

For the record, Emeralda Golf Club has hosted a number of international golf tournaments, including the Mercedes-Benz Masters Indonesia (2008, 2009, 2010), Ancora Classic, and the Indonesia PGA Championship.

However, the Marketing Director of Tugu Kresna Pratama is optimistic that he can defend his title.

"Without reducing respect for other participants, I am optimistic that I will be able to defend my title," he said.
