Empower SMEs with Revolving Funds

YOGYA (KR) - In the context of community empowerment,  Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises and Cooperatives (UMKMK) through the BUMN Partnership and Community Development Program (PKBL), PT Reasuransi Indonesia Indonesia Utama (Persero), a state-owned enterprise engaged in the insurance sector, set aside some of its profits for distributing revolving funds at low interest rates as much as 6 percent flat per year through PKBL program to 40 SMEs in Yogyakarta and Central Java.

Total distribution adds up to IDR 2 billion, consisting of 10 SMEs that own a jeep rental business in Kaliurang, 10 SMEs that own a goat farm in Kulonprogo, 10 SMEs that own parrot fish farming in Berbah, and 10 SMEs that own catfish farming in Boyolali.

PKBL & CSR Group Head of PT Reasuransi Indonesia Utama, Fredi Aries Setiawan, explained that this program collaborates with PT Gelar Mapan Sejahtera (GMS) as said on Wednesday (5/4) at Prawirotaman Gallery Hotel, Yogyakarta.

Meanwhile, the Commissioner of PT Gelar Mapan Sejahtera, Yudi Ivana, explained that this program is an effort to provide training and strengthening of groups and businesses as well as access networks among fellow SMEs. One participant from the goat farms, Wantoro, said that his group felt great benefit by this program. What is clear is that the revolving funds in the soft loan format is able to increase the productivity of our SMEs, said Eantoro. (R-8) -m
