Gorontalo (ANTARA) - State-Owned Enterprise, Indonesia Re donates educational support to SMA Negeri 2 Gorontalo to ensure better the teaching and learning process.
Finance & HR Director of Indonesia Re, Imam Bustomi, stated that it is obligatory for a state-owned Enterprise to share its profit by giving back to the society, both through Partnership and Community Development Program (PKBL) or Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR).
“We visit areas where we do not have representative office in our BHUN programs,” he added.
Imam explained that with Indonesia Re Teaching in Gorontalo program, he could interact and identify the educational facilities and resources needed for the students to maximize their teaching and learning process.
“The visit helped us identify that what SMAN 2 Gorontalo needed was 10 units of computers and two units of air conditioners,” he said.
He also added that the air conditioners will prolong the quality of the computers in the computer lab.
School Principal of SMAN 2 Gorontalo, Yolanda Pateda expressed her thankfulness with the donation given by Indonesia Re. “The donation will definitely support our students to become better human resources and improve the quality of our school’s education.”
For the last three years, SMAN 2 Gorontalo has been conducting Computer Based National Examination (UNBK) for its students.
“We have 343 students, divided into three sessions, we need to have at least 114 units of computers, while we only have 95 units of computers available,” she explained.
The donation will support the school to conduct UNBK without the need to borrow additional computers from other schools for years to come.
“Hopefully, the improvements of the school facilities will improve our students’ enthusiasm to learn and also improve the teaching and learning process in our school.”
