Indonesia Re presents two fostered partners at the IBD Expo 2018

Surabaya (Antara News) – State-owned enterprise reinsurance, Indonesia Re, participated in the annual BUMN exhibition, IBD Expo 2018, which was held at Grand City Surabaya, East Java, on October3-6, 2018. On this occasion, Indonesia Re displayed milk and coffee products from two fostered partners respectively from Batu and Gunung Kawi, Malang, East Java.

"Like the previous IBD Expo, we come and bring back our fostered partners to support the development of MSMEs in the regions," said Indonesia Re Corporate Secretary, Novis Asria, at the event.

Indonesia Re has provided a loan capital of Rp2 billion for a dairy cow group consisting of 36 fostered partners. Meanwhile, 20 coffee industry fostered partners have received a capital of Rp1 billion.

Besides coffee farmer groups and dairy cows, Indonesia Re is also involved in the development of metal craft medium industry cluster (IKM) foster partners from Pati, Central Java.

"In total, there are around 1,500 partners from various sectors," added Novis.

In this opportunity, representative of the dairy cow group, Budiono, said that before they received support from Indonesia Re, in bad weather conditions, coffee farmer groups in the area were forced to sell unripe coffee beans at a cheap price to the middlemen given the economic pressure.

"Once we received help from Indonesia Re, we were allowed to wait for the coffee beans to ripen regardless of the weather conditions," continued Budiono.

Meanwhile, BUMN Minister Rini M. Soemarno encouraged BUMN to actively create new entrepreneurs by supporting the development of the MSME sector.

"I am sure that the support from BUMN for the UMKM sector will be able to contribute to improving the national economy," said Rini.
